Photography is Therapy for the Soul

For over 30 years, Nick has been using photography to capture the beauty and essence of the human body.  In his early works, Bodyscapes, he realized that making art can be healing, life enhancing, and encourage self discovery and emotional growth.

Using photography to help women be at peace with their bodies led Nick to his next project, Petals.  In this book of fine art photography, Nick challenges the culture with a unique collection of artistic images that magnificently explores the central mystery of women’s body, the gateway of life.  The collection presents a series of forty-eight exquisitely beautiful sepia-toned pictures of vulvas.

Meanwhile, a documentary film has been created that tells the story of how women were able to move into a sense of safety and allow their vibrancy to shine through as their confidence grew.  It also documents the responses of sex educators, women’s health professionals, art critics, female participants in the project, as well as the men/women in the street.

Petals – both the book and the documentary – is unquestionably provocative.  But these two complimentary works couldn’t arrive at the more critical time in our culture.  Knowledge and understanding of human sexuality is again at a crossroads.  It is clear to anyone taking time to contemplate the images created here, that both the book and the video have given their subject respectful attention as each work honors the sacred center of womanhood.  From this, a new language begins to be spoken, words inspired by the awesome mystery of vulva.  For this breath-taking work, Nick has been awarded a Sexual Intelligence Award by one of the most respected, cutting edge sexologist and best selling author, Dr. Marty Klein.

In 2007, Nick’s sensual photography and Kenneth Ray Stubbs’ written word produced a massage instruction book and DVD called Femme á Femme: Erotic Massage, a collection of artistry, wisdom, and beauty.  Stubbs is a best selling author of several books and DVDs, and is well-respected in the Sexual Healing community for his soul-touching work, especially the Women of Light.  For this reason, Nick and Sayaka were both honored to be a part of Stubbs’ dream team of 5 women, fine art photographer and videographer. The five days of learning, connecting, creating and capturing the sexual energy were magical for both Nick and Sayaka.  They learned to work together harmoniously as a team.  Being on the other side of the camera, Sayaka understood the varying feelings that come with being photographed.  She now brings this knowledge to the photo shoots, where she collaborates with Nick to create the safe space to allow the models to feel more relaxed, beautiful, and confident, so they can let their inner beauty shine through.

In their current photo project, Naked Wisdom, Nick is turning his camera on the wise elders of our society while Sayaka interview them for their wisdom and knowledge of self love and body acceptance.  Nick and Sayaka are seeking out 60 plus generation for their insight to life through story telling and personalized interviews and photographically capturing the beautiful radiance of their nude body.

The concept of Lover's Masks comes from the teaching of Quodoushka (ancient sexual teaching), and we love using this concept as most people can understand it easily. Think of Lover's Mask as what persona you portray when you are making love. Are you a Temple Priestess? Maybe a Don Juan? Possibly a Dominatrix? Naive and Innocent? Teacher? Whatever it is, we have a tendency to be stuck with just one or two of those masks.

When you come for the session, you will feel completely safe to explore different masks as well as express your own. Guided by two sexologists, you will have a chance to process the emotions that may come up, too. The end result is not only a collection of gorgeous pictures of yourself, but also a newly found sense of confidence and excitement.

If you are female and want a female photographer, you have that option available. Most of the individuals and couples, however, find that having two photographer/sexologists available to be the most beneficial.

The session last between 1.5 to 2 hours. After we erase the obvious bad ones (i.e. flash did not go off, eyes half-shut) you will get all the pictures (couple of hundreds) in a CD format. There is no backend cost for you to worry about, and we do not keep any of the pictures unless you give us permission to. This way, you are safe to explore as much as you would like, and it will be your own secret. Of course, if you want us to photoshop, provide you with prints, paintings of your photos, and other expressions, we are more than happy to offer them to you with additional cost.

Erotic Photography Workshop

This unique workshop not only delve into the technical and artistic aspect of creating beautiful erotic photography, but also the emotion of the image. Nick will demonstrate basic and advanced techniques of lighting, camera settings, use of props, and the communication skills necessary to turn your visual fantasies into provocative erotic art.
